Doppler Scan
What is Doppler Scan?
Doppler scan uses high-frequency sound waves to create images of blood flow through blood vessels. Doppler scan is usually prescribed to detect flow abnormalities in upper and lower limbs, carotids (blood vessels going to the brain), and tumours. There are mainly two types of blood vessels; arteries and veins. Arteries are blood vessels carrying blood from the heart to different organs and veins are blood vessels carrying blood to the heart.
